We had the pleasure of interviewing our lovely mortgage broker BOSS located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Let’s see what she has to say!
Tell us about yourself!
Starting out in the mortgage industry as a loan processor and then becoming a mortgage underwriter for over 10 years, I truly understand the full process of securing a mortgage. As a mortgage broker owner of Empower Home Loans LLC, my professional background and love of the business has certainly paid off. Currently, I am a top producer in my region taking on loans that are more complex than the average loan. One thing I pride myself on is my ability to make my clients feel valued and at ease, as well as my ability to think outside the box. This has allowed me to earn a stellar reputation among my clientele. I recently started Empower Executive Suites, which is a co-working office building that leases out office suites to other small businesses. When I am not busy helping clients and saving the world, I enjoy cooking, creating new lattes, hosting Bible Study, and spending time with my husband, who is my best friend.
What is your profession? What do you do as an entrepreneur?
I am a mortgage broker and a proud owner of Empower Home Loans, LLC. I am also the owner of Empower Executive Suites. LLC. I help people secure loans to purchase properties as well as lease executive suites to small business owners.

Why did you choose the profession you are in?
I love helping people become homeowners, especially for the very first time. There is something about being a part of that process that really excites me. My other business came about when I was looking for office space, and most of the co-working buildings have very tiny offices and the executive suite buildings are crazy expensive. I wanted to create a more affordable executive suite that also offers resources to help people maintain, as well as grow their businesses. We will be teaming up with business coaches, accountants, bookkeepers, social media managers, and other business resources to offer our tenants.
Who or what is your number one motivator and why?
My number one motivator is discovering and fulfilling my purpose and Glorifying God with it. God has put purpose in all of us. My husband and family are also my who, what, and why.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love cooking, creating new lattes, hosting Bible study and spending time with my husband.
If you can name one person that helped you get to where you are now, who would that person be and how did they help you?
If I can only name one I would say God because I feel that would cover everyone. God has provided the parents that raised me. He put the people in my life who shaped, supported, and educated me. He aligned me with certain opportunities and protected me from many things.

If you could give a piece of advice to someone who aspires to become an entrepreneur, what would your advice be?
Don't let money be your reason. Do something you love to do because there are many times as an entrepreneur you will work for free. Know how to shift because shift happens. Have wise counsel that you actually listen to. Make wise choices.
