My Story

Yolanda G. Mukombe is on a mission to empower women, families, and communities to achieve economic empowerment through access and equity.  She is a 10-year financial service professional and uses her education and experiences to help others navigate financial systems and build economic resiliency starting at home. She has served in a financial capacity for many non-profit and service organizations for over 8 years. Yolanda is an economic development advocate and the Founder of “Can We BEE?” an initiative focused on building economic equity in under-resourced and underserved communities. Birthed from her own financial insecurity and financial trauma, the focus is on helping underserved communities heal from financial trauma, address financial insecurity, and develop a positive relationship with money.

Yolanda is a wife, mother, and devoted community organizer. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Psychology and Meredith College, John Weems School of Business with a Master of Business Administration. She is a consultant, coach, speaker, mentor, facilitator, instructor, and author of “Don’t Forget Who God Is 52 Week Devotional.” She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and serves on the Executive Board for her local chapter. She serves on the Executive Committee for the North Carolina Distinguished Young Women Program. Yolanda also serves on the Board of Directors for The Refining Life and An Invitation 4 Transformation, both non-profits that look to positively impact women and enhance their ability to be self-sufficient and economically resilient.
